Ruggero Ranieri

President and Director

Currently Visiting Professor at the University of Padua. He graduated in History from the University of Florence and was awarded a Doctorate in History from the European University Institute.
He was employed in the UK from 1987 to 2004 and held various posts at the Universities of Essex, at the London School of Economics and at the University of Manchester, where he was promoted to Senior Lecturer and Jean Monnet Professor (1999-2004). He is an adviser to ICSIM (Istituto Franco Momigliano per la Cultura e la Storia di Impresa) and an an expert on the history of the European Steel industry and on the early history of European Integration, areas in which he has has published widely.
Among his subsidiary interests, the history of World War II; and the Allied Campaign in Italy.
He is joint director of the journal “Diomede- Rivista di Cultura e politica umbra” and Honorary Member of the “Accademia di Belle Arti ‘Pietro Vannucci’ di Perugia”.
