Professor of “Storia del Libro” at the Dept. of Latinità e Medioevo at the University of Salerno, former Librarian at the University Library of Naples, he has developed research on the history of libraries and of publishing.
Member of the Pontanian Academy, he is also member of the Advisory Board of the journal “Rara volumina”.
In the series “Crisopoli” published by the Italian Institute of Philosophical Studies in Naples, he has published a history of the University Library of Naples (1995) and a book on the history and culture of Neapolitan Libraries (2002).
