Library

The Library, which has been under the care of the Fondazione Ranieri di Sorbello ETS since 1995, originates from the eighteenth-century collections belonging to members of the ancient Bourbon Del Monte di Sorbello family, in particular Uguccione III (1737–1816), Diomede (1743–1811), and Ugolino (1745–1809). The first known inventory, comprising around 3.000 volumes, dates back to 1802.

The historical catalogue of the Library of the Marquises Ranieri di Sorbello, compiled in 1802 by the Marquises Diomede and Uguccione III, has been digitised and made available online. The digitisation of the manuscript and the creation of the website were carried out by Dr Giulia Coletti as part of a research project funded by the European Social Fund through the POR UMBRIA ESF 2007–2013 programme, hosted by the Department of Historical Sciences of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Perugia.
