The Photographic Archive of the Fondazione Ranieri di Sorbello ETS comprises over 3,000 items, ranging from rare 19th- and 20th-century photographs to recently produced dossiers and photo reportages.
The Historical Photographic Archive of the Ranieri Bourbon di Sorbello family contains portraits and images of family members and their residences—including the castles of Sorbello and Civitella Ranieri—as well as numerous photographs documenting the social and domestic life of the Italian aristocracy in the early 20th century. Highlights include period portraits, collections of illustrated postcards, and slides depicting many Italian cities.
Among the holdings of the Archivio ALLEATI, there is also a significant body of photographic and iconographic material related to the Second World War, with a particular focus on the presence of Allied forces in Perugia and the Umbria region.
The Foundation also preserves a rich multimedia archive, which includes historical film footage, audio recordings, video coverage of events and conferences, and interviews with various public figures. Complementing this collection is a body of digitized research material available to the public, such as series acquired from the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in Washington, DC. These documents pertain to the activities of the Allied Monuments Men, who safeguarded Italy’s cultural heritage during the Allied advance through the country in World War II.
